A fantastic grant and project with my students with the Visual Art Exchange (especially Sarah Powers and Sarah Corpron) and artist Adam Peele. Students take pictures of downtown Raleigh, with direction of "unique perspective", and have the images turned into silk screens to be painted on glass panels . These panels will form a mural to be displayed in Moore Square and unveiled to the public in June. Students learn about public art, architecture, culture, history, cubism, graffiti, stencils, self expression, all that good stuff. Artist Adam Peele did an amazing job of guiding and teaching the students to get some fantastic pieces. So great to work with. Big, big thanks to the Visual Art Exchange and their wonderful work of providing these opportunities for the community, my students, artists, and myself.
