Today my son and I went to the North Carolina Museum of Art. Packed my sketchbook in hopes of having a few minutes to get a sketch in while my son played on his Scooter, glad I did. We found a convoy of beautiful construction vehicles parked, waiting to be sketched, climbed on and played with. My son and I both focused on a small one that looked a bit like R2D2, and was named "RT Wacker". I started the sketch and Jacob quickly took over, putting the water pen together himself and getting right to color, I let him finish it. Passing the torch for the next generation of Urban Skechers.....one "Rt Wacker" at a time. $(@TT

Happy 37th SketchCrawl with CAM Raleigh Urban Sketching

Fantastic day drawing with some fantastic artists. A great day drawing trains, warehouses, blue skies, and celebrating the wonderful 37th World wide SketchCrawl! We all need more days like these! $(@TT
Honored to have been asked to teach a Urban Sketching workshop to some amazing high school students.  Big thanks to CAM raleigh for asking me and supporting Urban sketching.  Great set of kids, braving through the rain to make some wonderful sketches.  $(@TT

Had a moment to draw between teaching classes today. Did this with special thanks to Nina Johansson and her terrific workshop "Challenge through limitations" which completely took me in many new directions. Thanks to Nina, I am splatting pa
int before, during, and after the drawing, and using a bamboo pen as well. I carry this "Dia de Muertos" wooden skeleton with me often, he is a good friend and is always willing to model. $(@TT
